About Kaya and Luna

To be revised - Kaya is no longer with us.

Welcome to our photo blog! I'm Kaya, a two year old fawn Great Dane who lives in Australia. I have a sidekick (ok, sister) called Luna. Luna is a Great Dane too, coloured blue (the trendy name for grey) and one year old (nearly one and a half, she reminds me) and used to try and be a show dog. Now she does agility instead!

My special talent is modelling. I get lots of practice because our Mum is a dog photographer, so whenever she doesn't have other dogs to take photos of, she practices on us. I'm very talented at modelling and Luna is well, not quite so talented. She does try though.

We get to do lots of different things with our Mum and Dad - going to the beach is a definite favourite. We love sharing our many adventures with the world through our blog. Oh and we also love receiving comments - hope to hear from you soon!

At the ‘Spectacular Petacular’

This weekend, Mum had a stall for her puppy photos at a big pet expo up in the place called Brisbane. Dad and us stayed around home for most of the weekend and did fun stuff like go to the beach, but he brought us up to make an appearance at Mum’s stall both days.

So here we are, making our star appearance! We were a big drawcard for Mum’s stall, lots of people came over and said hello to us. We were such good girls laying down nicely!

Lisa - I hope it was a success. The stall looked great!

We won stuff!

Today a big box came in the mail. Mum was really excited cos she knew what it was! She entered one of her photos in a competition in a magazine a while back won a prize for us!

Mum let us play with the box first. We love boxes!

Img_3216

We ripped it into little bits and played tug-o-war, our favourite box game.

Img_3239

Then it was time to go inside and look at what we won!

Img_3251

WOW check it out! All kinds of yummy treats just for us!

Img_3258

Mum made us lie down and pose with our prize, but Luna didn’t want to lie down properly so she looks a bit weird. I was ashamed of her poor lying down effort so I tried to hide…

Img_3272

Mum moved us around a bit – much better! Oh and we got to sample the treats after this. They were so yum! Thanks for winning Mum!

Grandpa’s Place II – Beating up Kaya (by Luna)

Hi it’s me Luna again! Kaya let me have another post – wow how lucky am I. Kaya posted last about our visit to Grandpa’s place. She missed out the best part though, our awesome play fight that we had in the long grass. I know why though, it’s cos I beat her! Muhahaha…

Anyways it started off when we found the long green grass in the paddock. I saw Kaya stalking me out of the corner of my eye…

Img_2998

She lunged! I ran away!

Img_3002

Face first into the long green grass.

Img_3003

But then I turned around and got Kaya a beauty!

Img_3010

Threw her into the grass…

Img_3012

But she got away! I chased her!

Img_3019

She’s still a bit faster than me, cos she’s bigger, but I gave it my best…

Img_3020

She got ahead of me…

Img_3021

Round and round we went!

Img_3024

We ran so fast…

Img_3035

Img_3036

But I finally caught up with her!

Img_3031

And jumped on her…

Img_3027

Uh oh! She got me this time!

Img_3139

But I recovered and jumped on her again! I won, I won!

Img_3169

I’m so good at play fighting with Kaya. We have lots of fun together, running and playing and exploring.

Img_3172

I might give her a hard time, but I really do love my big sister Kaya!

Grandpa’s Place

We went for a big drive today up to see Dad’s Dad and his family at their place in the country. It’s an interesting place to visit, he has lots of ‘stuff’! Sometimes called ‘junk’, but apparently it’s all useful ‘stuff’. Depends you who ask. Anyway, I like it cos there is lots to smell and investigate!

Img_2927

We were looking around and then noticed that Mum had gone missing! I looked everywhere and finally found her in an old caravan.

Img_2823

She had found something very interesting! They were tiny little mewling things in a box. Kind of like little baby puppies but different…

Img_2949

Mum called them ‘kittens’. They were so little and helpless looking!

Img_2828

We were a bit concerned about them, but Mum said that their mummy would be back soon and we should leave them be. So we went off exploring again!

Img_2971

Mum called us back though cos there was a big cow in the paddock she didn’t want me to say hello to. I like cows, but they don’t like me much. I’m not sure why.

Img_2967

We went and had a look in the other paddock instead. It was kind of dry and barren, Mum and Dad said it was because they’d taken all the ‘topsoil’ off for the new ‘housing estate’ close by. Not sure what all the means, but I think it’s something to do with all the houses I could see close by. I don’t think they were there last time we visited!

Img_2938

We liked running around in the paddocks! So much space and so much to smell and look at!

Img_2981

I don’t really understand why Grandpa has so much stuff. But I really like it! It’s such an interesting place, I like visiting Grandpa!
