About Kaya and Luna

To be revised - Kaya is no longer with us.

Welcome to our photo blog! I'm Kaya, a two year old fawn Great Dane who lives in Australia. I have a sidekick (ok, sister) called Luna. Luna is a Great Dane too, coloured blue (the trendy name for grey) and one year old (nearly one and a half, she reminds me) and used to try and be a show dog. Now she does agility instead!

My special talent is modelling. I get lots of practice because our Mum is a dog photographer, so whenever she doesn't have other dogs to take photos of, she practices on us. I'm very talented at modelling and Luna is well, not quite so talented. She does try though.

We get to do lots of different things with our Mum and Dad - going to the beach is a definite favourite. We love sharing our many adventures with the world through our blog. Oh and we also love receiving comments - hope to hear from you soon!

We’re Famous!

Mum finally got around to taking a photo of the article in the newspaper that was about us. Yay!

Mum reckons they quoted her wrong but that’s ok, it makes me out to be normal and Luna out to be a bit of a weirdo. Just like real life! What’s wrong with that! Muhahah…

Oh and you might ask about the big red love hearts we were wearing? Well, the photos was supposed to be published on Valentines Day, but they stuffed up and did it one week too late. I’m not quite sure what Valentines Day is anyway – I think it’s supposed to be about huggles and kisses and stuffs but what do hearts have to do with it? I love to eat them? Is that the connection? I’m confused…

kristen - what a cute picture! they look so silly and so adorable. how fun.

Chris - I love Luna's tongue sticking out. She looks so goofy!

Arabella - Congrats Guys! What a great picture! And did you see? You're up on the photoblog mainpage as well. I guess they wanted to say goodbye as well.

Arabella - Hey guys! Just dropping by, how's your mums dog photography business going? Lots of clients? And how do you like you're new blog? Is it working out better for you?

A Visit from Spot

We had a visitor today! His name is Spot and he is a little white doggy with a big black spot on his back. His people didn’t have much trouble naming him, obviously! Spot belongs to one of Mum’s friends who often has to go away for a few days for work. This time, Spot came to visit us and stay the night!

Spot was pretty chilled out, just like me and Luna I guess. He even had a cuddle with Luna on the couch!

I’m not sure Luna was too impressed, but she made him feel welcome all the same…

Then we went outside to play. Mum and Dad call Spot ‘such a boy’ – which I guess refers to him running around peeing on everything in sight as soon as he goes outside.

Luna thought it was a bit weird, so kept an eye on him. And an ear out for other stuff that was going on. She’s a bit multi-talented, our Luna.

Spot even did a bit of posing for Mum:

Mum decided she may as well turn our front yard play session into a bit of a photo session instead, so she gave us some modelling instructions. We all listened:

First it was my turn. I was happy about this! I think I’m getting a bit more dignified looking lately, don’t you agree? I think it’s the grey coming out on my muzzle.

Luna and Spot were checking out some people walking past:

Mum did some close-ups of Luna. I kind of envy her cool coloured hair sometimes. I wish I was a blue doggy too!

People do say we look good together though. And it’s kind of nice to be different.

I lay down next to Luna while she sunk her teeth into the local newspaper.

Reflecting on the day’s news:

We watched some birdies fly over:

Then we spotted Spot! (hehe, I’m so funny)

I think he felt a bit left out, so I invited him to come over and sit with us.

I said sorry for leaving him out.

I like it when we have friends over to visit! It’s lucky that Mum and Dad have lots of friends with doggies, so we get to meet new friends and catch up with old friends all the time!

Oh, and if you want to see when me and Spot first met, you have to check out our old blog! See the Party Time post here.
