Welcome to our photo blog! I'm Kaya, a two year old fawn Great Dane who lives in Australia. I have a sidekick (ok, sister) called Luna. Luna is a Great Dane too, coloured blue (the trendy name for grey) and one year old (nearly one and a half, she reminds me) and used to try and be a show dog. Now she does agility instead!
My special talent is modelling. I get lots of practice because our Mum is a dog photographer, so whenever she doesn't have other dogs to take photos of, she practices on us. I'm very talented at modelling and Luna is well, not quite so talented. She does try though.
We get to do lots of different things with our Mum and Dad - going to the beach is a definite favourite. We love sharing our many adventures with the world through our blog. Oh and we also love receiving comments - hope to hear from you soon!
I had a proper modelling job for Mum today! Only thing is, I had to share it with Luna. Means I had to work it twice as hard to make up for her lack of modelling talent…
Luna not looking too happy cos she had to have my hand-me-down winter jacket from last year, and I got the new one!
A bit of synchonised posing…
Solo shot…
Some funky angles…
Finishing off with some close ups of my rather photogenic (if I do say so myself) face…
Amanda - I love these doggie coats! May I ask where you bought them? My Great Dane girl is going to need one this winter!
My Blankie » The Adventures of Kaya and Luna - [...] Mum STILL hasn’t gotten around to buying me a nice new winter coat, and since my one from last winter doesn’t fit me any more, I have to make do with being draped with this attractive blue [...]
Wow, it’s been a big week for me! For those of you who don’t know – I got featured on the Daily Puppy website on Monday, just like my big sister Kaya when she was a little tyke!
I just wanted to say a big thank you to EVERYONE who left really nice comments about me and of course about Mum’s photography! I can be a bit of a pain to photograph sometimes (compared to Kaya anyway) so I reckon Mum did a pretty good job getting the photos she did.
Actually Mum told me that she had to go back through all the photos she’d taken to find enough good ones of me to give to the Daily Puppy people – she founds a few that she hadn’t published before. I’d like to share them here!
These are from the day I met my Mum and Dad for the very first time! I was 8 weeks old.
Me and Dad…
Me and Dad playing…
Me giving my new Mum kisses…
This is me and Kaya when I was 9.5 weeks old…
About the same age…
10 weeks old, look how little I still was compared to Kaya!
And I think these ones are Mum’s favourite photos at the moment, she can’t believe she missed them before. She thinks it was because my ear was inside out. I think they are great! Inside out ears are all the rage! Mum is just out of touch with my generation. I was 14 weeks old here.
Anyways hope you enjoyed the flashback! I reckon I was cute, don’t you?
Luna probably doesn’t remember what ‘Winter’ is cos she hasn’t been around as long as me, but I remember that it means COLD! Last year when it got cold Mum and Dad bought me a jacket to wear outside. They don’t have one for Luna yet so she got to snuggle on the couch with Mum’s special blue blanket. How lucky is she!!?
Bella - Just look at that face - so adorable. (Ahem, mom, it's my turn now -) Sorry it's getting cold where you guys are... it's springtime here and getting warmer every day! I liked winter a lot; I think I'm not going to be a summertime girl - makes my tongue hang out strangely, too (Luna - you're not alone).
Jillian - Wow! I love your beautiful photography, and your Danes are just gorgeous. I have a poodle and a westie and a camera I never use! You have inspired me to dig out that camera and start shooting.
Cheers, Jillian
Andrea - Hi. Saw Luna on "The Daily Puppy" and followed her over here. She is some cute, and so is her sister!
TJ - Hi saw Luna on the daily puppy and came here to see the blog. What great pictures. Your dogs are beautiful. I enjoyed reading about their adventures and will be back to read more. Thank You for the smile (c:
tara - Found your blog from The Daily Puppy- just want to say that you are an amazing photographer. As the mom four dogs I know how hard it can be to convince a puppy to stay still long enough to take a picture.
Beautiful dogs!
Arabella - Poor Luna - I'm sure she'll get a coat soon. In any case it can't possibly get as cold there as it did here this past winter and if it does you'll have snow!!
I love your pictures on Daily Puppy Luna. Very cool, now you two just need to submit you're grown up pictures.
Licks,
Arabella
satohi - Hi Kaya and Luna! *waves!*
I saw you, Luna, on Daily Puppy and just had to come visit! I just got done looking at all the lovely photos of you and and your sister, Kaya, that your mum took (this blog and Kaya's old one). They are lovely and show off how gorgeous the both of you are. =)
It's too bad it's getting cold where you are, but it's getting nice and warm here where I live. It's springtime which means more sunshine for the kitties I'm a mum to. I look forward to following your posts, Kaya, and the ones you (let) Luna do so I can live vicariously through your mum's lens since I have no wonderful pups of my own. (I hope to someday have ones as sweet as yourselves!)
Jaina - SUCH cute pictures!! I found you through a link in the daily puppy pictures. Kaya and Luna, you are both absolutely lovely. I look forward to visiting your blog :)
molly - I also found your sweet babies from the Daily Puppy.
You two are the sweetest looking ladies! I grew up with twin brindle great danes and miss my lap dogs... pretty soon when I get a yard (big enough), I hope to get some pretty Danes like your babies!
Please, post more photos soon!
Arabella - What fun you guys have! You look so happy.
Kisses,
Arabella
Saugh14 - BEAUTIFUL DOGS!!!
How did you make that video? For that length, the videos I make are WAY MORE than 9MB!!! Any insight will lead to more vids of "Tucker"!!
Thanks.
