About Kaya and Luna

To be revised - Kaya is no longer with us.

Welcome to our photo blog! I'm Kaya, a two year old fawn Great Dane who lives in Australia. I have a sidekick (ok, sister) called Luna. Luna is a Great Dane too, coloured blue (the trendy name for grey) and one year old (nearly one and a half, she reminds me) and used to try and be a show dog. Now she does agility instead!

My special talent is modelling. I get lots of practice because our Mum is a dog photographer, so whenever she doesn't have other dogs to take photos of, she practices on us. I'm very talented at modelling and Luna is well, not quite so talented. She does try though.

We get to do lots of different things with our Mum and Dad - going to the beach is a definite favourite. We love sharing our many adventures with the world through our blog. Oh and we also love receiving comments - hope to hear from you soon!

Mum has been cheating on us!!!

Well finally today we got PROOF that Mum’s been doing the dirty on her two favourite, faithful companions (me and Luna of course). It all fits together now – the long hours away in the afternoons when she arrives back home smelling… different. Not bad, just different, in a distinctly animalistic kind of way.

Well tonight, we discovered some PHOTO EVIDENCE on her computer!

So behold, Mum canoodling with the culprit!!

Update: Ok, so Mum has informed us that we have nothing to worry about. At first we thought he was some kind of overgrown Great Dane that let Mum ride him (how could we ever compete with that??) but Mum assures us he is a different species. A horse in fact. So, since he’s not a doggy like us, technically she’s not actually cheating on us. Phew!

So a bit about ‘the horse’. His name is ‘Rocky’ and he’s a ‘thoroughbred’ (kind of like us, we are ‘thoroughbred’ Great Danes), he’s 13 years old (wow! old!) and he’s 15.3 hands high. Whatever that means. He used to be a racing horsey (again, kind of like me, I race other doggies at the beach) and he is from New Zealand! Which is apparently some cold, small little country overseas somewhere.

Mum says that one day we will get to meet him in person! Uh… horse… dog.. let me try again… one day we get to meet him for real! I hope he likes us and doesn’t try and stomp on us with those big hard looking feets.

Anyways we are a bit excited, a bit envious, but a LOT relieved! Mum still loves us, yay!

Comment

Arabella - That's some cool horse, you must be very exited to meet him. I get to see horses every once and a while when we go trail hiking, they're really big. Bigger even than great danes.

Emilee - You girls must tell your mum that I'm jealous! The horse I used to ride just moved somewhere else, and I'm absolutely heartbroken. I'd do anything to jump back on one right now. I hope you have fun meeting Rocky!

Chris - My horse is only 14.2 hands, cause she's a quarter horse. But she would LOVE you puppies! She loves the ones she lives with at least. Yea for horseys and puppies!
