The Adventures of Miss Luna bio picture

About Kaya and Luna

To be revised - Kaya is no longer with us.

Welcome to our photo blog! I'm Kaya, a two year old fawn Great Dane who lives in Australia. I have a sidekick (ok, sister) called Luna. Luna is a Great Dane too, coloured blue (the trendy name for grey) and one year old (nearly one and a half, she reminds me) and used to try and be a show dog. Now she does agility instead!

My special talent is modelling. I get lots of practice because our Mum is a dog photographer, so whenever she doesn't have other dogs to take photos of, she practices on us. I'm very talented at modelling and Luna is well, not quite so talented. She does try though.

We get to do lots of different things with our Mum and Dad - going to the beach is a definite favourite. We love sharing our many adventures with the world through our blog. Oh and we also love receiving comments - hope to hear from you soon!

Our Big Adventure, Part 1

It was a lazy weekend day and we were just lying around, bored, as usual. We never do anything exciting.

Well actually I don’t think Luna ever gets bored, there’s always the floor to stare at. I can’t for the life of me see what’s so interesting about the floor but as long as it keeps her occupied (and not biting at me or annoying me), that’s fine with me.

Suddenly there was a flurry of activity – it appeared we were going somewhere! Somewhere different, cos our beds got put in the car too! As soon as we realise we are going somewhere, we load ourselves into the car, you know, just in case Mum and Dad forget us at the last minute.

We drove for a looong time up the big road, then through a city, then on another big road. Then, we stopped at someone’s house! Who could it be!?

Img_4007

Turns out it wasn’t anyone exciting. Dad was just picking up a big broken screen-thing (like the one at home I watch the lions on for my stalking research). We had to stay in the car and not get out and run around. It got a bit boring after a while.

We were just about sick of all the waiting, when Dad said it was time to go!

Woo hoo! And guess where we ended up going! THE BEACH! Not our usual doggy beach (a loong way away from there) but it was a doggy beach all the same. We had a quick drink (car rides make us thirsty), then headed down the path to the beach.

This beach was a bit weird though and we could only be off-lead after a certain time. We got there just before that time so we had to have our leads on on the beach for a little while.

Img_4031

I asked Mum if it was time to go off-lead yet…

Img_4032

And it was!!! Time for running and chasing!

And swimming in the surf!

We had heaps more fun on the new beach but Mum has lots of stuff to do (as usual), so this story is… TO BE CONTINUED…

Comment

Cheryl - What a fun adventure girls! Kaya I think you have the perfect "I am bored" look!

lessie - Do you have any advice about training two dogs at a time? I have two -- and it's a struggle. :) Love your site.:)

Honey the Great Dane - Can't wait to hear about the rest of your 'big adventure' guys! That beach looks lovely - but wow, you guys are so brave to go into the water! I am a big wimp and although my humans always keep trying to encourage me to go in, I just dip a paw in and then scurry out! Maybe the sea is warmer in Australia? It's freezing here in NZ! :) Slobbers, Honey the Great Dane

dizzy mum - You guys rock. Love the doggie exuberance in the running pics!
