Where I live, winter is a really good time to go to the beach. When we have a really nice clear day with blue skies and no wind, it’s the best place to be!

Especially when there are lots of new doggies to play with! I like the big boy dogs the best.

It can get a bit lonely if there are no other doggies around to play with. When me and Kaya used to come to the beach, we’d just play with each other! But now I have to make new friends every time.

Mum and Dad say that it’s been good for me though, because I have to think for myself and not just follow Kaya everywhere! They said that it’s made me lots more confident – so I guess that’s one good thing!

There are lots of things to do at the beach even without doggy friends anyway – one of my favourites is chasing sticks!

I found one of those super fast doggies – Mum said they are called ‘greyhounds’ – they are great to chase! They are always faster than me though, they can sure run! Mum only got one pic of this one cos he was running so fast, he was out of sight in no time.

Ooh! Is that a potential new friend I spot over there?

Yep, sure is! Us big doggies always seem to spot each other from a long way away, and we always go to say hello!

This is Loki, a Great Dane just like me! Her colour is called ‘merle’ – isn’t her colour pretty? Lots of interesting spots and patches!

I wanted to play chasing games with her.. but I think she was a bit scared of me!

I chased her around a bit…

But then she ran back to her Mum and Dad.

I really liked Loki’s Mum, she was nice and handed me a big shell that I was having trouble picking up – it’s a bit hard without thumbs sometimes.

She also ran around and played with us heaps – I love it when people do that!

Most people are too scared because they think we will knock them over, but Loki’s Mum wasn’t scared at all (probably from playing with Loki – she’s bigger than me!) so she was cool to hang out with!

More beach adventures to come!
