About Kaya and Luna

To be revised - Kaya is no longer with us.

Welcome to our photo blog! I'm Kaya, a two year old fawn Great Dane who lives in Australia. I have a sidekick (ok, sister) called Luna. Luna is a Great Dane too, coloured blue (the trendy name for grey) and one year old (nearly one and a half, she reminds me) and used to try and be a show dog. Now she does agility instead!

My special talent is modelling. I get lots of practice because our Mum is a dog photographer, so whenever she doesn't have other dogs to take photos of, she practices on us. I'm very talented at modelling and Luna is well, not quite so talented. She does try though.

We get to do lots of different things with our Mum and Dad - going to the beach is a definite favourite. We love sharing our many adventures with the world through our blog. Oh and we also love receiving comments - hope to hear from you soon!

Million Paws Walk 2010

The Million Paws Walk is run every year by the RSPCA which is, as Mum tells me, a group of people that help out doggies, cats and other animals in need. Would you believe that sometimes people decided they don’t want their doggies any more, and send them off to find new homes! I can’t even imagine that, those poor things. Anyways this walk was to help raise money to support these helpful people, so I was all for it!

I went with Mum and her Mum (my Grandma) and also Mum’s brothers partner, her name is Augusta.

I luuurve my Grandma!

I was wearing my beautiful new collar from Ruthless Leather. If you want to see some pro modelling shots Mum took of me wearing it, make sure you check out the post on her blog.

There were heaps of other doggies there, it was pretty exciting!

We even tried out the cool ‘handsfree’ lead that matches the collar. It means that Mum can have me on the lead and walk me, but not actually have to hold onto me cos the lead loops around and she wears it over her shoulder! That way, we can both be as trendy as each other.

At the end of the walk, we went and had a play in the agility area with heaps of other dogs, and lots of kiddies too! I think I gave them a bit of a surprise when I jumped up on the ramp thing, they loved it though!

We went over some jumps but they weren’t very exciting for a doggy who is used to jumping horse sized jumps. I was a good girl and jumped up and stayed on the table though.

I was even persuaded to have a sit for a while! Just the ticket after a long walk.

The Million Paws Walk was super fun, I hope we do it again next year! So many people and doggies and things to see and do, and of course all the attention I get cos I’m pretty big. Plus to top it off, I even got half a sausage from the sausage sizzle. What a day!
