Hi again! Luna and Kaya’s Mum, Charlotte here.

It’s Luna’s first birthday today and this is the second in a two-part birthday present blog post for my baby girl. Unfortunately I can’t be with her today and I am no doubt missing her (and Kaya of course) very much by now!

Luna I’m so sorry I can’t be with your on your very first birthday. Dad will give you big cuddles from me and you will get even more big cuddles when I get back! I hope you aren’t missing me too much and are both being good girls for Dad.

You slotted into our little family just so easily. We originally thought you were the boss, but over time we’ve learned that you only pretend to be big and tough and you actually follow Kaya around like she’s your idol. Kaya pretends to let you be boss, just cos that’s the kind of doggy she is!

You are serious, funny, silly, easily amused and always want to please us. You are so sweet with little doggies and yet stand your ground and don’t take cheek from the bigger dominant ones. You are always full of energy, bold and athletic, but also a little bit clumsy!

We love you just the way you are and I’m looking forward to spending lots more birthdays with you in the years to come. Big kisses!!! Love, Mum.

Hello everyone! This is Kaya and Luna’s Mum, Charlotte, here. I am on holidays in New Zealand at the moment and I’m really sad that I couldn’t be here for Miss Luna’s first birthday but unfortunately it was just the way it things turned out!

I thought I’d set up a post as a secret birthday present to my baby girl, in two parts becuase I seem to have gotten a little carried away with the photos (soo unlike me). So the first post will be her life up until 6 months old, then the next (check back later today) will be the last 6 months.

We first saw Luna at just 3 days of age when we went and visited the breeder in August last year. She was one of 6 girls in a litter of 7. We were instantly in love and put a deposit on her there and then!

We were lucky in that her breeder sent through regular photo updates.

When Luna was 3 weeks old we put out the call for a name for her. See this post. We finally settled on Tommy’s great suggestion of "Luna Blue".

When Luna was 8 weeks old we did the 10 hour drive to Sydney to pick her up! Here’s some of my favourite shots from the day.

Wow, it’s been a big week for me! For those of you who don’t know – I got featured on the Daily Puppy website on Monday, just like my big sister Kaya when she was a little tyke!

I just wanted to say a big thank you to EVERYONE who left really nice comments about me and of course about Mum’s photography! I can be a bit of a pain to photograph sometimes (compared to Kaya anyway) so I reckon Mum did a pretty good job getting the photos she did.

Actually Mum told me that she had to go back through all the photos she’d taken to find enough good ones of me to give to the Daily Puppy people – she founds a few that she hadn’t published before. I’d like to share them here!

10 weeks old, look how little I still was compared to Kaya!

And I think these ones are Mum’s favourite photos at the moment, she can’t believe she missed them before. She thinks it was because my ear was inside out. I think they are great! Inside out ears are all the rage! Mum is just out of touch with my generation. I was 14 weeks old here.
